24-Year-Old Diagnosed With Stage 3 Cancer After She Overlooked Continuous Burping

A 25-year-old American lady who had trouble stopping her burping has disclosed that her condition was brought on by an undetected, advanced stage of cancer.

Bailey McBreen of Florida reportedly began burping up to ten times a day in 2021, according to People. She ignored the ailment for months until acid reflux and “excruciating” stomach cramps developed, at which point she sought medical attention. Ms. McBreen disclosed that her and her family received a “huge shock” when they eventually learned that she had stage 3 colon cancer.

“I started burping excessively, which was the first indication something wasn’t right, even though I didn’t know it at the time,” Ms. McBreen said to NeedToKnow. Five or ten times a day, I would burp. For me, this was not natural,” she continued.

According to Ms. McBreen, her condition began to worsen, and she began to experience “excruciating” pain, loss of appetite, and difficulty using the restroom. Then, acting on her gut feeling that she was experiencing some kind of “obstruction,” the nurse rushed to the hospital right once. Subsequently, a CT scan indicated that she was suffering from stage 3 colon cancer along with a tumor blocking her large intestine.

She remarked, “I never imagined it could be linked to such a horrible disease.” The 25-year-old continued, “It really was an out-of-body experience.” to her diagnosis. “I recall that I couldn’t say “I’m not ready to die” at first. I never in a million years thought that any nonspecific symptom I was experiencing was actually stage 3 colon cancer,” the woman remarked.

Furthermore, a month after detecting the burping, Ms. McBreen informed NeedToKnow.co.uk that she thought the constant burping was related to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

“While excessive burping isn’t a classic indicator of colon cancer, my oncologist advised me that it was probably the beginning of my symptoms,” the woman stated. In her situation, she continued, “GERD was a symptom because my tumor was slowly causing a complete bowel obstruction.”

People claims that Ms. McBreen underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor after receiving her diagnosis. She will be receiving chemotherapy through the end of August.
