7 foods that help improve thyroid function

Nutrition plays a very important role in maintaining thyroid health. Insufficient function of the thyroid gland and the excess hormones it produces are harmful to the body’s health. This reduces performance and worsens mood.

To prevent various thyroid diseases, doctors recommend diversifying the diet with foods rich in iodine, protein, mineral salts, trace elements, and vitamins, especially ascorbic acid and B vitamins.

Here is a list of the most beneficial foods that can help support thyroid function.

1. Apples.
Apples have a beneficial effect on all body systems, destroying pathogenic bacteria. The main thing is to eat them together with the peel, they contain a high amount of iodine.

2. Crab meat and seafood.
They contain vitamin B12 and zinc, which stimulate the body’s immune system. Please note that canned crab meat also retains its beneficial properties.

3. Seaweed.
Contains iodine and 40 other vitamins and elements that protect against thyroid diseases.

4. Blueberries.
These berries rank first in terms of antioxidants. They help to eliminate hormonal disorders of the thyroid gland.

5. Redfish.
It is a source of omega-3 fatty acids. They are essential for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland. Eat redfish as often as possible.

6. Nuts with honey.
Helps activate the thyroid gland. Crush 3-4 walnuts, mix with a tablespoon of honey and eat in the morning on an empty stomach. Take this “medicine” daily for 1 to 2 weeks.

7. Lemon with honey.
Activates the thyroid gland. Rinse 2-3 lemons well, grate them on a fine grater with peel. Mix them with about the same amount of honey. Take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day between meals.
