After learning that she had a highly rare autoimmune condition called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), Celine Dion was forced to postpone her world tour. Since her diagnosis in December 2022, the 55-year-old singer has been accepting her condition.
During this trying time, she has been relying on her family and followers for love and support. International Stiff-Person Syndrome Awareness Day was observed on March 15, and Dion published a very uncommon photo of herself with her three boys, René-Charles, 23, and the 13-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy. She and her late spouse, René Angélil, had three boys together.

The family photo was taken during a visit to the K1 Speed go-kart circuit in Las Vegas.
“Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life,” she wrote in the post, displaying an extreme level of candor. “However, I’m still committed to returning to the stage and leading a normal life at some point.”
The singer urged others to combat SPS and thanked her global fan base for their support. Her followers didn’t take long to remark on what the image meant to them. “I really like your singing,” a commenter said. It makes me cry. That such people exist makes me glad. Someone else said, “We love and miss you, Celine!”

“I want you to know that you’re capable! We are capable!” she wrote.
Since receiving the diagnosis, the singer has struggled, withdrawing from public life due to SPS. However, she most recently attended the Grammy Awards in February while being accompanied by her son René-Charles. The audience responded enthusiastically to her presence on stage, clapping. Dion became emotional when he saw everyone’s response and stated, “Thank you all.” “I really mean it from my heart when I say that I’m happy to be here,” she continued.
She was even photographed in New York earlier this month, giving a thumbs up in pictures, alluding to her resilience in the face of her diagnosis.
Last October, Dion attended a hockey game for the Montreal Canadiens in Las Vegas with her three sons. It was the first time she had been seen in public since she had revealed her SPS diagnosis. She attended a game in February as well which showed her determination to try and live as normal a life as possible.
