When we were young, our birthdays were frequently celebrated with our families and a select group of friends. One 6-year-old wanted to rejoice with his thirty-two classmates.
Teddy, a kid from Arizona, decided to celebrate his sixth birthday with his entire class rather than going to Disney World or spending the day at LegoLand.
Two weeks prior to the big day, his mother, Sil Mazzini, reserved a table at Peter Piper Pizza in Tucson and gave his teacher the 32 invitations to distribute to his classmates.
Looking forward to an unforgettable celebration for her kid, Sil said that she had even had fifteen RSVPs for her son’s big day. She had even paid for the pizza and made the goodie bags.
However, it ended up being remembered for all the wrong reasons because Teddy’s classmates were all missing.
The family waited for an hour, but no one arrived. They therefore made the most of their trip by eating pizza and playing arcade games, rather than leaving their son to eat by himself at his birthday table.
Father Ted Bollinger claimed that although Teddy had a terrible experience, he recovered when they were able to divert his attention with activities.
“I was definitely disappointed,” Bollinger said to the New York Post. Teddy found it sad that they hadn’t arrived one hour into the celebration because, to him, that was the most important thing.
Soon after going viral, the picture of her kid Teddy sitting by himself in front of leftover pizza at his birthday table went global. Thousands of people donated gifts and expressed their sympathies after seeing her post on a local news station.
Teddy’s friends apologized to him the next day at school, she continued, but just one parent contacted to express regret for missing the event.
Mom Sil later remarked that she was sorry to have posted the picture since she had no idea how much attention it would receive. She detested every minute of the post’s publicity, and the family was overtaken by the responses.
She disclosed that instead of throwing Teddy a celebration for his seventh birthday, her family would be taking him on a trip.
Teddy, however, was not happy, so the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Rising MLS team invited him and his parents to their next games.
Teddy was greeted with a cake and cheerleaders waved and sung to him as hundreds of people, including the players, congratulated him.
