It’s difficult to express our feelings when we learn we will be parents for the first time. Regardless of our gender identity, the vast majority of us are ecstatic to learn we are carrying a child.
Naturally, hope is what comes to mind first. Maybe we imagine our child’s appearance, or we have fantasies about the things we will teach or do with them. How it will feel to hold them for the first time is something that many of us are curious about.
Regretfully, not every pregnancy ends in happiness as most of us imagined when we were young. Carlos Morales, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, is well acquainted with this terrible truth, and his narrative is a beautiful illustration of the bittersweet side of life.
It seemed like Carlos and Erica Morales were meant to be together. After meeting at a nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2006, the couple began dating. Despite their limited language skills—Carlos didn’t speak English, and Erica didn’t speak Spanish—they were clearly drawn to one another.
Rumor has it that Carlos and Erica danced for the whole of the first evening. Carlos wrote down his phone number on a piece of paper and gave it to Erica, telling her to do with it as she liked once the nightclub closed.
It might have ended there if Erica had eventually misplaced the paper with Carlos’s phone number on it. It appeared that fate had different plans.
After they crossed paths again, this time via mutual friends, the couple realized they were truly in love with one another.
Carlos put a lot of effort into learning English so he could communicate effectively with Erica. Erica was studying Spanish in the meanwhile.
“Observe these blessings.” Even though they will scream till they drop, I still want to give them the best kiss. That’s my meaning.
Following their 2007 wedding in Las Vegas, the couple started trying to have a family.
Their first attempt was tragically unsuccessful due to miscarriage. Thanks to fertility therapy, Erica became pregnant once more, and this time, the couple was in for a tremendous surprise.
The doctors informed Erica that she was carrying four babies during her initial scan!
Over several months, Carlos and Erica got ready to become parents to quadruplets. Erica was exhausted from giving birth to four children so quickly, so Carlos did his best to take care of her while still cooking and cleaning the house.
ABC15 Arizona released a piece on March 1, 2015.
On January 12, 2015, Erica was admitted to the hospital because of elevated blood pressure. She called Carlos before he got there to let him know that the doctors wanted to deliver the babies right away because she was having contractions all the time.
Erica and Carlos took pictures and videos to preserve the memory of the event when Carlos got there. Carlos gave Erica a cheek kiss before she went into the delivery room, saying in a whisper, “Let’s get these babies out.”
He had no idea how drastically that day would alter his life.
Carlos claims that Erica had a C-section to deliver their quadruplets, which consisted of three girls and one boy.
Carlo said to Yahoo, “We were so excited to start our family.” “And then everything collapsed.”
Shortly after giving birth, Erica experienced hypovolemic shock, a condition characterized by significant blood and fluid loss.
When the alarm went off, Carlos was sitting at his wife’s bedside, and nurses hurried over. The new father was told to wait outside while medical staff took care of his wife. An hour later, a doctor came back to tell Carlos that Erica had passed away.
Since his wife passed away too soon, Carlos Morales and his quadruplets have captured the hearts of Americans.”We’re just…March 20, 2015, Friday, was posted by 93.9 WKYS.
He questioned, “How could this have happened?” For a while, she was fine; then, she wasn’t. She vanished while still alive. The following morning, I had the worst day of my life after enjoying the best day of my life. After the birth of my four children, my wife passed away.
Carlos talked with his late wife, and they named their kids Carlos Jr., Paisley, and Tracey. For his third child, he named her “Erica.”
The grieving father was allowed to take two of his kids home from the hospital on January 16, 2015. The other two were permitted to go back home on March 11.
Despite his deep sense of grief and anguish over his loved one’s passing, Carlos understood he had to be there for his kids. Attending baby-care lessons taught the father-of-four how to clean his kids, feed them when they were hungry, and manage their sleep schedules. He also obtained CPR training.
Erica’s mother, Sondra Bridges, finally moved in with Carlos to help him take care of her grandchildren.
Sondra said, “It’s funny how things work out.” “It’s been incredible, but bittersweet, because of God and the overwhelming public support.” I would also like to thank each and every one of you. We truly value all of your assistance.
