The most delightful time of the year is Christmas. Although the holiday is all about appreciating what we have and being thankful for our family and friends, it is also about buying gifts for those we care about.
After dating for three years, a married couple was preparing to celebrate their first Christmas together as husband and wife. They had this custom of purchasing gifts individually.

One day, while cleaning around the house, the woman came upon her husband’s Christmas gift list by accident.
She was intrigued and decided to have a look, but what she discovered shocked her.
She noted as she went down the list that her husband was exceedingly generous when it came to selecting gifts for his friends, coworkers, and relatives. Among the others, he bought a $600 wristwatch for a coworker, a $250 bracelet for his sister-in-law, and $900 fitness gear for a buddy.

She couldn’t believe her eyes when she finally saw her name. Her spouse chose a $20 stainless steel kitchen spoon set for her as a gift. She was disappointed and enraged at the same time, and after giving the topic some thought, she decided to confront him about it.
“I was too shocked to ignore this, and I had a confrontation with him about it,” she wrote in a Reddit post, asking fellow users to inform her if she was correct in acting the way she did.

Her husband accused her of being greedy and overreacting. He further stated that because he was spending his own money on the gifts, he could spend as much as he pleased on anybody he pleased.
As she argued that his lack of thoughtfulness had offended her, he informed her that she should learn to be content with whatever she received, regardless of how much the gift cost.

She felt unappreciated in comparison to his friends and family, but he dismissed her as a “ungrateful, spoiled brat.”
He even stopped talking to her after calling her foolish.
Redditors weighed in, telling her that she was totally justified in being upset with her husband for selecting such a gift for her while he was lavishing lavish gifts on others.

“If one of my coworkers spent so much more on me than on their own spouse, I would be SERIOUSLY weirded out,” a coworker said. “I’d be extremely uncomfortable if my BIL got me a $250 bracelet.” “I’d be appalled if he only spent $20 on spoons for his wife,” another remarked.
Others even remarked that the present selection was a significant red flag. “It’s a massive red flag to lavish presents on strangers rather than your significant other…However, you should expect them to get you beautiful things in return. “It’s completely disrespectful,” one person stated.
