A Florida woman kidnapped ordered a pizza with a particular call for help, potentially saving her and her children’s lives.
According to officials, Cheryl Treadway and her three children were held at knifepoint by her boyfriend on Monday afternoon.
Investigators believe she persuaded him to let her use a cell phone to order a pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut online.
“There was a message urging them to send help and phone 911 as they were being held hostage under the comments section,” the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

‘We’ve never seen anything like that before.’
Treadway was recognized by Pizza Hut employees when her order arrived because she is a regular customer. Her message sparked interest as well.
“We’ve never seen anything like it,” Candy Hamilton of CNN affiliate WFLA said. “I’ve been here for 28 years and have never, ever seen something like that.”
According to reports, the suspect is armed with a knife.
Treadway’s residence in Highlands County was visited by authorities, who found her carrying a child.
“She told deputies that her boyfriend, Ethan Nickerson, was in the house with a knife and that her other two children were with him,” according to police.
They escorted her to safety and convinced Nickerson to leave her alone. After a brief battle, he resurfaced 20 minutes later, and the other children were securely removed from the residence.

According to the police complaint, the two had been fighting all day, and the suspect was armed with a large knife.
According to officials, Treadway attempted to leave to pick up his children from school, but the suspect refused. He instead drove her to school.
When they returned, she begged him to let her order pizza. According to the affiliate, he grabbed her phone as soon as she finished the transaction.
“I’m not sure I’d have considered it before. It’s simply something she does instinctively, I mean “According to the affiliate, Lt. Curtis Ludden. “Until he spotted us coming around the corner, the guy had no idea.”

Nickerson, 26, is accused of aggravated assault with a weapon, battery, false detention, and obstructing justice by denying law enforcement communication.
According to Chris Lewis of the sheriff’s office, he was in custody Wednesday morning, with bail set at $45,000.
Lewis said he didn’t know if Nickerson had hired a counsel.
On June 1, he will appear in court for the first time.
