People Will Never Eat Crabsticks Again After Seeing This Video

Have you ever had a favorite type of food ruined for you? If you are somebody that enjoys crabsticks, then you might want to reconsider your choice of learning more about them. Perhaps you may love them after you read it, but it is unlikely.

When you really stop to think about it, the food that we eat is often shrouded in mystery. We don’t know much about it or the way that it is made, but we eat it, nonetheless.

Some of the food that we eat may be unsavory when it comes to the preparation, but we look beyond that because it is just so delicious. For example, we might pop a hot pocket in the microwave and enjoy it within a few seconds, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is prepared as a fine dinner.

Crabsticks, however, are something that many people enjoy eating and most people don’t really think much about them. For example, did you know that when you eat a crapstick, you aren’t actually eating something that contains crab? Some people even call them seafood sticks because of it.

Now that a video is available on YouTube, which we have for you here as well, you can learn more about this popular treat. It shows how they are created, which starts by taking frozen fish meat, such as Alaskan Pollock, and throwing it in with some crab flavoring and other ingredients.

Everything is mixed together in a giant processor and other ingredients are included, such as egg whites and potato starch.

As everything begins to congeal, it looks more like a gray sludge and I doubt any of us would take a bite at this point. They then take the sludgy looking conglomerate and put it into a machine that forms it into a strip that looks like a fish candycane.

They then cut the sticks and cover them in an orange casing to make them look like the crabsticks that we find at the store. The rest of the mush is sold off as crabmeat substitute.

After being posted, some people were thankful and others, not so much. Will you be eating crabsticks again?
