Because royal families are constantly in the spotlight and people are curious about their lives, the media keeps a careful eye on everything they do. This is one of the reasons these families’ members are frequently featured in prestigious magazines’ headlines.
If you believe that the British Royal Family has experienced a great lot in recent years, you should know that every royalty, regardless of wealth and notoriety, struggles with personal matters.
In 2014, Spain gained a new monarch. Following several controversies, his father, Prince Juan Carlos, abdicated and Prince Felipe assumed the crown. The former ruler’s reputation suffered greatly when he became embroiled in a corruption inquiry. He went on an elephant shooting excursion to Botswana shortly after, in 2012, which infuriated the Spanish people. The decision was made by King Juan Carlos in 2014 to abdicate and give Prince Felipe the crown.

Despite having two older sisters, Felipe rose to the position of leader of a kingdom since, at the time, dynasties were passed down through men. Now that this rule has been altered, King Felipe’s elder daughter is now clearly the heir.
Although King Felipe is very well-liked in his native country, he was reportedly prepared to abdicate the throne out of love.
King Felipe had a very eventful upbringing. He saw several different places with his family and gained a great deal of knowledge about their cultures. In 1984 and 1985, he attended the Lakefield College School in Ontario, Canada, to further his studies. He had completed three years of military training at Spain’s armed forces academy before returning home. After completing this instruction, King Felipe graduated from Madrid with a degree in law and later Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a master’s degree in international affairs.
He has put a lot of effort into trying to give his people the best care possible. Felipe represented his nation as a flag bearer and sailor in the Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, who would become his future wife, was employed as a journalist during this time. She graduated with two degrees: a master’s in audiovisual journalism from the Institute for Audiovisual Journalism Studies and a bachelor’s in journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid. In Spain, Letizia rose to fame and became a well-loved figure. She even covered the 2000 US presidential election while anchoring Telediario’s nightly newscast.
When she first met the future monarch, she had a highly prosperous career in her profession overall.
Felipe apparently wanted to see Letizia face-to-face and was able to do so by way of a common friend who happens to be a journalist. They didn’t begin dating for a few months after she gave him her number.

They didn’t tell anyone about their connection at first, but when they were seen having fun together in Felipe’s Mallorcan palace, the world found out.
They declared their engagement in 2003.
There were rumors that Felipe’s father didn’t like the relationship. Letizia lacked royal ancestry and was a divorcee. Juan Carlos referred to his future daughter-in-law as “the enemy within,” according to sources at the time. He advised his son to give the engagement a year’s notice and give it careful thought.
On the other hand, Felipe was determined to marry Letizia no matter what it took.

“Felipe went to his father to ask permission to marry with a letter renouncing his right to the throne in his pocket,” a member of another Royal family told Vanity Fair.
“And when his father suggested that he wait a year or so to make sure that she really was the right girl, he handed him the letter.”
Felipe’s mother told Juan Carlos: “You have no choice. If you don’t acquiesce, it will be the end of the monarchy.”

King Felipe and Queen Letizia have two precious daughters together, Leonor and Sophia.
The family tries to lead a normal life. As the king focuses all his energy to serve the people the best that he can, Queen Letizia is devoted to helping children across Spain get education. She also helps children who suffer from rare diseases.
This family is adored by its people because of their humble personalities and the ordinary life they tend to live.
