After a lengthy and successful career, it seems as though Tom Selleck has accomplished everything there is to achieve at the top of the entertainment industry. If he were to decide to hang up his acting boots tomorrow, he would likely be well-off for the rest of his days.
Even while it goes without saying that he won’t ever have to worry about money to maintain a roof over his head, if things don’t work out in the future, one specific roof may be beyond his means. and one that he would much prefer hang onto.
According to TMZ, Selleck revealed in a shocking interview with CBS Sunday Morning this past weekend that he is concerned about having to give up his well-known ranch in the wake of the news that the popular series Blue Bloods has been canceled after 14 seasons.
As NYPD chief Frank Reagan, Selleck has been the show’s focal point for the duration of its existence, as viewers are well aware.
Tom earns a cool $200,000 every episode, making him the best paid member of the Blue Bloods ensemble, according to Celebritynetworth.com. In addition, the 79-year-old serves as one of the show’s executive producers.
However, as they say, all good—and lucrative—things must come to an end. As Tom faces the possibility of losing his most reliable acting role in recent memory, he must at the very least entertain the idea of selling his cherished 63-acre ranch in California.

According to TMZ, Tom stated in the previously mentioned CBS interview that he hopes to secure further acting opportunities that will allow him to maintain ownership of the property.
The Magnum P.I. veteran emphasized he was being serious when his interviewer questioned if he was, suggesting that even after climbing as far up the celebrity ladder as he has, the necessity for a steady salary is a reality.
The actor went on to explain the distinction between being able to finance his expansive ranch, which is his pride and joy, and being able to comfortably cover his living expenditures for the rest of his life. Recall that the property was formerly an avocado farm, so it’s large enough to need a lot of upkeep and appears to consume a sizable portion of his income.
The long and short of it is that Tom will soon be on the market again to chase his next big role, and if his words are anything to go by, retirement isn’t something he’s considering.
This runs contrary to reports from a few years ago that suggested he was “tired of the grind”. Back then, an insider told OK! Magazine that Selleck was considering retirement, despite the fact that Blue Bloods was yet to run for several more seasons.
“He’s tired of the grind, and the show just takes more and more out of him every season,” the quoted insider told OK!.
“The cast and crew will be sad to see him go, but Tom’s got plenty to keep him busy — and he looks forward to kicking back on the days he doesn’t!”
